Obituary

Kenneth Joseph Neckar, 65 of Van Buren passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 in a local hospital. He was a retail manager at Tractor Supply. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Neckar.

He is survived by his mother Lillian Vale of Van Buren; three daughters Aimee Edens and Rachel Russell both of Fort Smith, and Alicia Ross of Bixby, Oklahoma; two sons Adam Neckar of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Andrew Neckar of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister Jan Blair of Van Buren; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nephews.

A memorial service will be 10AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren officiated by Pastor Chris Johnson. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

I worked with Ken at Schnucks/Walgreens in Fort Smith when he was a manager in the early 1980's. He was a caring person and a very good manager. I did not realize he was a local until I read of his passing in the paper today. He was such a professional in all areas of the store that I just assumed he was transferred here already knowing all the business. I am so sorry to hear of his death. He was a fair, fun and good man.

Lillian~ I am so sorry to read of the passing of Ken. I'm so glad I had a chance to visit with him this past year. He was truly a wonderful man and a good friend. I will never forget him.
